Bethel AME Church

In August 1999 the Lord placed a calling on Rev. Renee Marshall to plant Bethel.  With the blessing of Bishop Vinton Anderson she found a place to have service.      The first service was held at Godwin Middle School on the fourth Sunday of October 1999.  On that Sunday four persons came forward to join Bethel, and the church has continued to grow since then.  Bethel worshipped at Godwin for several years, then the Lord blessed the conrergation to move to the current location in February 2012.  In April 2014, Rev. Marshall retired from pastoral ministry.

Following Rev. Marshall's retirement, Bethel was blessed with a new pastor, Rev. Wayne E. Bennett.  Pastor Bennett currently provides dynamic, biblically based leadership to the members of Bethel.  The mission of Bethel AME Church is to minister to the social, spiritual, educational, and physical needs of all people by reaching out to them, leading by example, helping those in need and spreading Jesus Christ's liberating gospel.

"So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. The one who plants and the one who waters have a common purpose, and each will receive wages according to the labor of each. For we are God’s servants, working together; you are God’s field, God’s building. According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building on it. Each builder must choose with care how to build on it." I Corinthians 3:7-10 (NRSV)
